While these are the most frequently asked questions that we encounter from prospective customers there is no simple answer since there are so many factors which can dramatically impact the overall cost of the project.   Specific information about your requirements is needed in order to provide an accurate estimate of the costs involved.  For instance:

• How many pages will the site contain?

• Can you supply content (text / wording) in electronic format?

• Do you have a logo ready for deployment on the site? - or do you need one designed?

• Are the images and photos you want to display on the site available in electronic format (psd, jpg, gif, bmp, etc.)? - or do they need to be digitized?

• Will you be selling products from your web site?  If so, do you already have shopping cart software? - or will you need a shopping cart system developed for the site?

In order to facilitate this process we provide an online form that elicits the basic information required to provide an initial estimate based upon your specific requirements.  This form can be accessed via the Request A Quote link on this page.  Our estimate will be returned to you within 3 working days with a link to an electronic worksheet designed to guide you through a detailed definition of the purpose, functionality, look and feel, and user interface characteristics for your web site.  The worksheet will also allow you to communicate your vision for the site, your likes and dislikes, color preferences, and timeframe.  Upon receipt of the completed worksheet we will contact you by phone to discuss each of the items in detail before issuing a final quotation for the site.

Why don't you offer a fixed price per page (or per site) approach?

Web site design definitely does not lend itself to a "one size fits all" pricing paradigm.  Differences in functionality and complexity - and consequently the design and development effort - are simply too great to allow us to offer a fixed price per page or per site price (other than our "starter" site pricing intended for small companies with limited budgets who simply need an initial web presence.  Those approaches undercharge clients with complex requirements (sophisticated graphics, Flash intros or movies, complex navigation, shopping carts, etc.) at the expense of those with modest requirements (static pages, limited graphics, textual content) and is analogous to asking an advertising agency for a standard per page price for a brochure.  At eCenterSoftware we provide custom web sites that meet the exact requirements of our clients - and consequently price our services on a per project basis once we fully understand your requirements. 

That said, we have found that hourly pricing sometimes is a better fit for Redesign or Update services and are fully prepared to offer that alternative.

What services does your pricing include?

We offer a "soup-to-nuts" approach for our clients including:

• Domain Registration (if the domain name you have chosen is available)

• Site Prep for Hosted Sites including email setup, ftp site setup (if applicable), MySQL or MSSQL Server setup (if applicable), etc.

• Content Placement - you supply it and we'll dress it up, check spelling and hyphenation, and install any required hyperlinks.

• Creative Design - original imagery, button rollovers, image enhancement and manipulation, embedded hyperlinks, etc.

• Flash Intros, Banners, and Movies

• Custom Web Forms - including email support (success and failure pages, results via email, custom response to submitter with attachments (if required), results database (MySQL, MSSQL Server, Microsoft Access, CSV).

• Database Design (MySQL, MSSQL Server, and Microsoft Access.  We prefer MySQL since it is normally supplied at no additional charge on Windows, UNIX, and LINUX servers.  We recommend Microsoft Access only for extremely low volume applications since it provides no multi-user capabilities in a web-based environment.
